Serve, Celebrate, and Shine this Holiday Season with Light Orlando!

The holiday season is here- a time for joy, gratitude, and giving back! At Light Orlando, we believe that the true spirit of the season shines brightest when we come together to serve our community. This year, we’re excited to host two special volunteer opportunities designed to spread hope and love across Central Florida, and we’d love for you to join us!
Whether you’re looking to make memories with your family, connect with friends, or simply make a difference in the lives of others, these events offer a fun and meaningful way to give back. Volunteers of all ages are welcome (children under 14 just need a parent or guardian to join!).
Light Orlando Community Christmas Service Project
There’s no better way to celebrate the season of giving than by joining our Light Orlando Community Christmas Service Project! This beloved annual event brings together volunteers from across Central Florida to spread joy and hope through hands-on acts of service.
Just like in years past, volunteers will:
Assemble Christmas "Stockings" for senior citizens who otherwise might go without.
Make Friendship Bracelets for children in the hospital.
Make Blankets for those in need.
Assemble Snack bags for children in need
Enjoy a night of celebration and music with a DJ to keep the energy high as we work together for a great cause!

Volunteers are invited to bring socks and/or new Children's Underwear to donate to those in need. If you’ve joined us before, you know how magical it feels to be part of this night. If you haven’t, this is a great time to jump in and see what it’s all about!

Thanksgiving Meal Packing Event
Before sitting down for your own Thanksgiving meal, join us in preparing and packing 4,000 hot meals for individuals and families who might otherwise go without. It’s a powerful way to start your Thanksgiving morning, serving with gratitude and helping ensure that no one in our community is forgotten on this special day of thanks.
Volunteers will help:
Assemble freshly cooked meals in “to-go” style boxes.
Pack and load meals for distribution to local charities.
Support with cleanup once distribution is complete.

Looking Back: The Impact of Past Community Christmas Service Projects
Our past holiday service projects have achieved incredible results thanks to the generosity of volunteers like you!
2024 Highlights:
2,000 Christmas stockings filled with age-appropriate toys and activities for local children.
300 snack bags decorated and donated to Fostering Kindness.
Dozens of handmade blankets and friendship bracelets gifted to children at AdventHealth Hospital.
2,552 band-aids and 604 pairs of children’s undergarments donated — meeting critical shelter needs.
2023 Highlights:
700 children’s stockings and 250 senior stockings created.
800 hygiene kits assembled for men and women in need.
Camille McCashland, one of Light Orlando’s Program Officers, shared,
“I am just amazed at the number of people that came out tonight to help us. And I am so grateful that we live in a great city where people look for opportunities to get out and serve.. and do it!”
