Light Orlando’s LOVE Week 2026 took place February 9–14 with six impactful service initiatives across Central Florida. In just one week, 382 volunteers served 1,273 hours, partnering with local nonprofits to support seniors, families, youth, and children in need. Light Orlando’s Volunteer Experience (L.O.V.E.) Week returns February 9–14, 2026, inviting the Central Florida community to share love through service during Valentine’s Day week. Launched in 2023, L.O.V.E. Week is a week-long initiative focused on bringing people together to serve local partners and neighbors through meaningful, hands-on volunteer opportunities.

Light Orlando’s 5th Annual Community Christmas Service Project brought nearly 435 volunteers together for an evening of service, generosity, and unity. Through three impactful service projects, volunteers assembled care packages, handmade items, and donations benefiting children, families, and seniors across Central Florida-closing out 2025 by delivering hope together.

Light Orlando’s April 2025 Lunch and Learn highlighted the impactful work of The Sharing Center, Seminole County’s leading hub for compassionate poverty assistance. Attendees learned about key programs, including Families in Crisis, The Pantry, The Oasis, and Project Rise, that provide dignified support, resources, and long-term stability for families and individuals facing hardship. This holiday season, Light Orlando invites volunteers of all ages to join two meaningful community projects- the Thanksgiving Meal Packing Event and the Community Christmas Service Project. From preparing thousands of holiday meals to filling stockings with essentials and toys, Light Orlando is bringing people together to spread joy, hope, and love across Central Florida.

On October 1st, 2025, Light Orlando was honored to be hosted by the Islamic Center of Orlando for our monthly Lunch & Learn. Led by Imam Tariq, attendees from across Central Florida explored the center’s outreach programs, toured the mosque, and engaged in open dialogue about faith, unity, and understanding. On September 11, we honor lives lost by turning tragedy into service and unity. The 9/11 National Day of Service- the nation’s largest day of service- calls millions to volunteer, give, and show kindness. Light Orlando invites our Central Florida community to join Orlando-area service projects and continue building stronger, more compassionate communities together.

On August 23rd, more than 2,500 volunteers joined Light Orlando at the Central Florida Fairgrounds for our 3rd Annual Hunger Project. Together with US Hunger, we exceeded our goal and packed 1,023,675 meals for families across Central Florida. From the joyful energy of volunteers to the incredible impact of meals now in the hands of 59 partner organizations, this was our biggest project yet!

That’s why we’re thrilled to launch our Summer of Service campaign, an intentional season of giving back, lifting others up, and delivering hope across our community.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of donors and the dedication of our volunteers, this year’s Community Closet Clothing Clean Out made a measurable impact across Central Florida. Together, we collected, sorted, and helped distribute an astounding 50,866 items, each one a tangible expression of care, hope, and support for families in our community.
