After a successful launch in 2025, Light Orlando is excited to continue its Summer of Service campaign in 2026. The Summer of Service campaign brings together individuals, churches, nonprofits, businesses, and community leaders across Central Florida to make a meaningful difference each summer.

Light Orlando’s May Lunch & Learn gathered nonprofit and faith-based leaders at United Against Poverty for a time of connection, collaboration, and community impact. As part of Light Orlando’s 2025 Lunch & Learn series, these gatherings continue fostering meaningful partnerships and shared impact across Central Florida.

Light Orlando’s 6th Annual Community Clothing Closet Cleanout brought together 120 Light Orlando volunteers to sort and distribute over 60,000 donated items to 16 nonprofit organizations across Central Florida. From clothing and shoes to essential hygiene products, this impactful event helped meet real needs for individuals and families in the community, restoring dignity, comfort, and hope through collective generosity.

Light Orlando is inviting volunteers from across Central Florida to participate in its Annual Community Closet Clothing Clean Out, a day of hands-on service aimed at sorting, organizing, and distributing thousands of clothing donations to individuals and families in need.

Light Orlando kicked off the year with its first Lunch and Learn at Matthew’s Hope Ministries in Winter Garden. Discover how this faith-based nonprofit is offering a hand up to individuals experiencing homelessness.

Light Orlando’s LOVE Week 2026 took place February 9–14 with six impactful service initiatives across Central Florida. In just one week, 382 volunteers served 1,273 hours, partnering with local nonprofits to support seniors, families, youth, and children in need. From a Valentine’s Senior Prom and community flower distribution to a beautification project, youth planting event, family picnic, and building 100 beds for children, LOVE Week demonstrated how love is best expressed

Light Orlando’s Volunteer Experience (L.O.V.E.) Week returns February 9–14, 2026, inviting the Central Florida community to share love through service during Valentine’s Day week. Launched in 2023, L.O.V.E. Week is a week-long initiative focused on bringing people together to serve local partners and neighbors through meaningful, hands-on volunteer opportunities.

Light Orlando’s 5th Annual Community Christmas Service Project brought nearly 435 volunteers together for an evening of service, generosity, and unity. Through three impactful service projects, volunteers assembled care packages, handmade items, and donations benefiting children, families, and seniors across Central Florida-closing out 2025 by delivering hope together.

Light Orlando’s April 2025 Lunch and Learn highlighted the impactful work of The Sharing Center, Seminole County’s leading hub for compassionate poverty assistance. On October 1st, 2025, Light Orlando was honored to be hosted by the Islamic Center of Orlando for our monthly Lunch & Learn. On September 11, we honor lives lost by turning tragedy into service and unity. The 9/11 National Day of Service- the nation’s largest day of service- calls millions to volunteer, give, and show kindness. Light Orlando invites our Central Florida community to join Orlando-area service projects and continue building stronger, more compassionate communities together.

On August 23rd, more than 2,500 volunteers joined Light Orlando at the Central Florida Fairgrounds for our 3rd Annual Hunger Project. Together with US Hunger, we exceeded our goal and packed 1,023,675 meals for families across Central Florida. From the joyful energy of volunteers to the incredible impact of meals now in the hands of 59 partner organizations, this was our biggest project yet!
