Light Orlando is calling on volunteers to make a difference in the community! Join us on Saturday, April 26, 2025, for our Annual Community Closet Clothing Clean Out and help sort, organize, and distribute clothing donations to those in need across Central Florida.
How Volunteers Will Help
Volunteers will play a crucial role in preparing donated clothing for distribution by:
Receiving clothing donations from community members.
Sorting clothing into various categories (e.g., men’s, women’s, children’s, professional attire, casual wear, etc.).
Folding and bagging items by category in preparation for distribution.
Fulfilling charity orders by selecting donated items requested by partner organizations.
Loading vehicles to deliver donations to local charities.

The Impact of Clothing Drives on Community Dignity
Samantha Espanosa of the One Heart Foundation, one of the many organizations who received last year's clothing drive donations to distribute to the community, shared her insight on the benefits of these events, stating,
“We see a lot of people who are experiencing homelessness, some who are with their kids living in their car, some who are living in camps in the woods, so this just helps us make sure that even if it’s a day or two worth of clothing we can give them something clean and ready to go. It’s just really nice to give them this little dignity piece where they don’t have to be in the same outfit.”
