Light Orlando Lunch and Learn at The Sharing Center
Earlier this year, Light Orlando had the privilege of hosting our monthly Lunch and Learn at The Sharing Center, one of Seminole County’s most impactful hubs for poverty assistance, dignity-centered services, and community transformation. This Lunch and Learn Session brought together nonprofit leaders, church partners, and community organizations to learn about the depth of services offered at The Sharing Center; and how, together, we can continue supporting their mission to serve families and individuals facing hardship.
About The Sharing Center

Founded in 1986 by leaders from 17 churches across Central Florida, The Sharing Center emerged from a shared belief that real change happens when people unite to serve others. Decades later, that foundation remains strong. Today, The Sharing Center stands as the most comprehensive social services hub in Seminole County, offering wraparound assistance for those experiencing poverty, hunger, and homelessness.
Rooted in its Christ-centered mission- “Through Christ, we provide dignified solutions for those experiencing poverty and homelessness”- The Sharing Center works to ensure that everyone who walks through their doors is met with compassion, dignity, and hope. Their programs address both immediate needs and long-term stability, helping individuals and families move toward a brighter future.
Key Programs That Make a Difference
During our Lunch and Learn, attendees gained insight into The Sharing Center’s core programs-Families in Crisis, The Pantry, The Oasis, and Project Rise- each designed to meet specific needs while upholding the organization’s values of compassion, respect, and integrity.

Values That Lead Every Interaction
Throughout the Lunch and Learn, The Sharing Center’s commitment to compassion, dignity, community, and integrity was evident. Whether through a warm greeting, thoughtful service delivery, or long-term guidance, their team ensures that each neighbor feels seen, respected, and supported. Their goal is simple yet profound: to help individuals regain stability and move forward with confidence, one dignified step at a time.
Center for Hope: Impact by the Numbers
A highlight of our visit was learning about the Center for Hope, The Sharing Center’s unified approach to bridging the gap for neighbors facing hardship. In 2024 alone, more than 51,000 individuals sought assistance; and thanks to the generosity of donors, volunteers, and community partners, they were met with compassionate solutions. This incredible impact is made possible by a deeply committed network of supporters who believe in sharing not only resources, but hope.
